Where would we be without telecommunication, the appliances of the modern home, the conveniences afforded to us by advancements in technology? This is uncertain as a family addicted to the grid during a blackout. Devices run low on batteries and eventually turn off. Our connection to the outside world is severed. Suddenly the anxiety sets in. We can no longer figure out how to navigate the landscape without the aid of a device. The connectivity promised to us by telecom corporations is actually separating us. Ego blinds us from understanding the effects of living inside a consumer culture. Is it your choice when you have to feel so productive?
